Panopto, as an educational video-sharing platform, has gained much popularity among educators and students from all over the world, especially during this pandemic time. The educators record and share the courses on Panopto, and the students watch and learn online.
But what if you want to download the course to watch it offline or upload it somewhere else? Can educators and students download Panopto recordings? Well, according to Panopto, videos on this platform cannot be downloaded by default, unless you are the creator or your teacher has enabled downloads for viewers (In such case, you will see a download button right above the playing video).

Before start, please free download free download the software and install it on your PC.
Go to Panopto and play the video you want to download. On the top address bar, copy the full-length URL of the video.
Run Free HD Video Converter Factory and open the “Downloader.” Click “+ New Download” and “Paste and Analyze” the copied URL in the downloader. Then wait a few seconds till the download options appear. Select the download option and click “OK” to add it to the download task.
At the bottom of the workspace, click the inverted triangle to specify an output path or leave it as default. When you are ready, hit “Download All” to start downloading.
Step 1. Play the Panopto video you want to download and right-click your mouse at a blank space. Then click “Inspect” (Or press “Ctrl + Shift + I”).
Step 2. Under the “Elements” section, press “Ctrl + F” and search for a video link with the “.mp4” extension. Then copy the link.

Step 3. Paste the link in a new tab and press “Enter.” You should see the needed Panopto video ready for play. Click the three-dot at the bottom right of the player and choose “Download” to start the downloads right away.

Step 1. Open your Panopto folder and hover the mouse over the video you want to download. Click the “Settings.”
Step 2. Go to “Outputs” and click “Download Podcast” to download the video immediately.
Tips: You can change the Type and Quality of the video before downloading.
