Many of us have found Indigo kinda worthless and it even stops us from using other addons, and it's about time to uninstall it. Unfortunately, Indigo doesn't seem to want to be easily removed, and this is what this post is for, I'll step-by-step show you how to get rid of Indigo on Kodi for good.

If you find that post helpful, sharing it to do your bit to the community. Let's help everybody get their problems solved.

Why you should remove Indigo and what seems to be the problem here

Indigo addon has gone too far from a simple and innocent Kodi maintenance kit and installation tool. It has become a pain in the ass for many Kodi users in mainly these ways:

· Indigo will install itself from TV addons repository without any notification.

· Indigo pops up annoying notification messages for updates (while there isn't any took place) all the time.

· Recently, many addon users, especially The Crew users, have found that their favourite addons and repositories are either disappeared or unable to launch.

At the late update of Indigo on in April 2020, TVA (TVaddons.co) has added a new code to Indigo for surreptitiously blocking Kodi users from using these addons.

· The conventional process of uninstalling addons doesn't work for Indigo.

This problematic addon has somehow managed to sneak into URLresolver as a dependency, while URLresolver in turn is a crucial dependency to most addons these days. It's known to all that you can't uninstall an addon dependency without uninstalling the addon first, thus you can see that Indigo has made itself really hard for average users to uninstall.

Method 1. Try Disabling Indigo Addon on Kodi

· A simple trick that is worth a try.

Step 1. Launch Kodi, click the magnifying glass on the upper-right side to Search. Then select Search add-ons.

Step 2. Enter search string: Indigo, and hit OK.

Step 3. Click on any of the media sources of Indigo from the search result. From the addon info panel, click Disable.

In that case, though Indigo is not uninstalled, it won't be causing trouble for now. That works for some people, turn to the following methods if you see ‘This add-on can't be disabled'.

Method 2. How to Uninstall Indigo Addon Using Fuck Indigo

To uninstall Indigo, what we need to do is to install an Indigo removing addon called Fuck Indigo, and use it to delete Indigo folder while bypassing Indigo blocking. Prior to that, make sure TV addon repository is uninstalled and its source has been removed from Kodi File Manager.

You can install Fuck Indigo from The Crew repo, but if you find your installed The Crew repository missing from Kodi repositories list, that means The Crew repo is blocked by Indigo. And you can insall Fuck Indigo addon from these repos that are not blocked by Indigo.

Step 1. Launch Kodi, since you cannot see The Crew repository now, you can only install Fuck Indigo 0.0.2 from the repositories that are not currently blocked by Indigo.

(Learn how to install addons on Kodi)

· Install Fuck Indigo from program addons section.

Step 2. But we still can't launch Fuck Indigo since Indigo stands in the way. Go to Add-ons > Program addons.

Step 3. Locate and right-click on Indigo addon, and click disable. DO NOT click on Indigo and click disable from addon info panel.

Step 4. As you can see, Indigo is gone from program addons list.

Step 5. Now we can run Fuck Indigo addon! Launch Fuck Indigo once, and restart Kodi. Each time you restart Kodi, Fuck Indigo will automatically delete the Indigo folder.

However, sometimes installing Fuck Indigo won't work, since as we can see from the blocked addons list, Fuck Indigo is also included.

Method 3. How to Uninstall Indigo Addon by Downgrading URLResolver

If you find Method 1 and 2 don't help, we can still manage to uninstall Indigo by downgrading URLResolver to the version that doesn't use Indigo as a dependency, and here's how. It's a bit more troublesome, but it works for the most.

A part of the reason that we can't easily uninstall Indigo is that Indigo is a dependency of TVaddons URLresolver fork which serves as a dependency of many popular Kodi addons, while we can't uninstall a dependency of an installed addon without uninstalling the addon first. And it would be troublesome to uninstall every one of our installed video addons just to remove Indigo. I've found a version of URLResolver which doesn't use Indigo as a dependency, so by downgrading URLResolver to that version, we can successfully uninstall Indigo.

Step 1. Launch Kodi, click on the cog icon form upper-left side of the interface.

Step 2. Click System.

Step 3. Move the cursor over Add-ons tab, and hit Manage dependencies.

Step 4. Locate and click on URLResolver.

Step 5. Click Upgrade from the URLResolver addon panel.

Step 6. If you're an experienced Kodi user, you'll find a long list of URLResolver versions, sourced from different repositories. Our purpose is to find a version before 5.039 to downgrade URLResolver to. If you only see one version, that means you don't have a repository with previous version of URLResolver installed, in that case, install a proper repository and start over. Step 7. Wait for the URLResolver to “upgrade”. When it's done, get back to the main interface and click on the magnifying glass icon and search for Indigo.

Step 8. Click on Indigo, and click uninstall from its panel. Voila!

Got you

Step 9. After uninstalling Indigo, uninstall TVA URLResolver if possible and install the latest Gujal ResolveURL, and don't foget to remove Indigo affected repos including TVA repo, Kodi Bae repo, etc. and reboot Kodi to use Fuck Indigo to delete the Indigo folder to make sure it's gone. Now you can upgrade URLResolver back to the latest version, reinstall The Crew repo & addon, and enjoy again!

My The Crew addon works great again after that.

Problem solved?

Since we're here, I hope you have successfully uninstalled Indigo addon on your Kodi. If not, here are some other feasible yet more troublesome solutions to uninstall Indigo:

· Downgrade Indigo to 4.0.12 and try the uninstallation methods again.

· Downgrade Kodi version to uninstall Indigo.

· Uninstall all the addons using URLresolver as a dependency, and you can freely uninstall Indigo. (How to uninstall addons on Kodi). Then install ResolveURL instead.
